A hands-on workshop for performing musicians
Cardiff, Saturday 23 January, 10.00 – 4.30
Does your band want more exposure? Then come to this hands-on training day with Huw Williams (manager of the breakthrough Welsh folk band, Calan, pictured left) and Steve Groves (former BBC music programme and reviews editor). The day will include
• networking effectively at conference events
• approaching festivals
• getting your work listened to and your story in the media.
Huw Williams says “I’ve had to learn my craft on the road, but for Welsh musicians to achieve the success they deserve they need more than talent. Steve Groves and I will take you through simple but effective techniques to get your music listened to and show you how to follow that up successfully.”
trac has links with FAI (Folk Alliance International), AFO (the Association of Festival Organisers), WOMEX, Showcase Scotland/Celtic Connections and the new EFEx (English Folk Expo). We would like to encourage Welsh artists seeking UK bookings to gain the skills and contacts to take Wales’ music further afield.
