As you know, trac is looking to expand our work with young people over the next five years. We’ll want to expand Gwerin Gwallgo and Gwerin Iau and continue our work with AVANC, our first ever national youth folk ensemble. We’ve also been asked to join up some of the Creative Learning programmes in Welsh schools, create new ways of working with our traditional dances, reach new communities and engage with people who do not experience our traditional arts. We do this in English and Welsh and we may also look to be doing it in other languages as well.

This means we’ll need to expand the number of people we can work with, build relationships and see what the training needs may be. One of our first steps is to build a database of musicians, tutors, mentors, dancers, singers and trainers that we can call on.

We need to hear from you if you:

  • work with young people,
  • are trained in another field but would like to work with our traditions,
  • work with hard to reach groups and communities who don’t speak welsh
  • work with schools as part of our music service providers
  • are an emerging musician looking to expand your career.

We want to hear from you if you have ideas or would like to be involved. Send us an email to trac@trac-cymru.org with your CV
